Foreign Secretary David Miliband MP visits International Service
David Miliband paid a visit to International Service's headquarters as part of Labour's 2010 election campaign trail.
Accompanied by Hugh Bayley, the current MP for York, Mr Miliband spent time asking about our international volunteers and our programmes of work overseas.
He was also interested to see examples of children's artwork from around the world that form part of our Same Difference art exhibition.
Our Chief Exective, Matthew Snell, said: "we were delighted to see Mr Miliband demonstrate his support for international development by coming to see the team at International Service."
© International ServiceStaff then went on to take part in a Questions and Answers session at York's Merchant Taylors Hall with David Milliband and Defence Secretary
Bob Ainsworth MP.
The focus of the debate was on international policy, and representatives from across the City of York posed a range of diverse questions from climate change and global poverty, to nuclear defence and conflict resolution.
