UK election 2010

Make this election count for the world’s poor

Today, the countries of the world are more connected than ever before. Everyone is affected by challenges like the global downturn, and the need to adapt to climate change. What happens in one country has a direct impact on others.

Yet the world’s poorest disproportionately bear the burden of the effects of international crises and of the mistakes largely made by richer countries.

The 2010 general election is the time for Britain to step up its global leadership, and step up its fight against poverty and inequality.

As candidates compete for your vote, it's important they hear that global poverty is an election issue.

International Service has joined with over 150 organisations to endorse and promote the VoteGlobal election manifesto which calls on the next government to continue improving the UK’s policies on international development, and ensure that the world meets the Milennium Development Goals.
